The WiseLED is that bonkers £550 dive light I sell - although haven't been doing of late because I'm waiting for the new models to arrive (3,300 lumen and a 5,000 lumen cannister model). Not exactly something you'd want to take out for a walk though 😉

Fenix is a range of (very) nicely made pocket torches. They're more expensive than some, but not as expensive as others, but they're bright (quoted in measured lumens, not this claimed nonsense) and very well made.

Or the cheaper route is a good bright one off some where like deal extreme. I have just ordered an XML torch for about $30 delivered. Takes a few weeks to turn up but there usually good units. Just make sure you read the customer reviews before buying

I can vouch for the bonkers nature of this light... It lit one of my Entries in the Photo competition, and it would have been a hell of a lot harder to light it without something like that. It is a honking big thing though, not exactly something you would whip out your pocket for a spot of lightpainting. 😉

Depends if you want to beat a few pikeys to death with it first or not

I prefer a Maglite, with 6 10AH D cells in it 😉

At the moment, I use two of these AP Pro Lanterns I bought from B & Q - 220 lumens, and rock-solid - they've been down every hell-hole I have with no problems, and they're not expensive at all. I added a prismatic perspex diffuser disc over the lens, held on by the appropriate size of circular airtight tub lid and rubber ties, which keeps it in place, and protects the main lens from scratching:

I also use two of their 90 lumen torches on my helmet, focused to one beam, for any front-lighting required:

If you want a good flood effect - this is pretty potent - and a good price too!

http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=10467525&fh_location=//catalog01/en_GB/categories%3C {9372015}/categories%3C{9372043}/categories%3C{9372176}/categories%3C{9392059}/specificationsProductType=spotlights

I use this combined with coloured gels to floodlight structures - then a smaller unit for detailed work.

If someone wants one of these, I have something very similar that needs a new home. Just come and take it away, or pay postage (Be warned, it's chunky!).
