Can anybody help with the above photo? I was sent it recently and told it could be uploaded. There is an Avon Colliery http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/Avon-Colliery-Coal-Mine/ in the database, but the headframe(s) look distinctly different.

The full caption to the photo was Avon Pits 1921

Have a look on the Welsh Coal Mines web site,the bottom 1950`s photo looks similar comparing the buildings,the Headframes did change through the mines lives,they started as Timber in the early days.
