I received the following email today which I cannot hope to answer myself - does anybody know anything that might help?

Quote:

A pewter mug was presented to them as winners of the Yorkshire Council League & Cup., Yorkshire Victory cup and Doncaster Invitation cup in 1946, this is inscribed to J Batty presented by J Hunter ESQ.

• Is the club still in operation
• Have they merged with others
• How can I contact existing/past members

The club does not play cricket now.In 1946 J.Batty opened the batting in the Final that the club won against Wakefield. One of the players of Hickleton was Freddie Brown who became captain of England cricket team in 1950 tour in Australia.

I would be pleased to see any photograph any people have them of the side.

Cheers Brian.
