I hope you like .... this was at 10:19 today at Alfreton in Derbyshire... It raised the Echoes for the GWR very loudly... Now I've just got to get it tonight in the dark!! ::)

I was born (post nationalisation) in LMS territory but have spent the major part of my life in the land of God's Wonderful Railway. I really enjoyed seeing an engine at speed. Thanks Ian.

I think the A3 whistle sounds amazing at speed... I have a recording from 1959 at Ordsall cossings at Retford on the ECML on a Sunday morn ... the kids can be heard in the park, Ordsall church chiming bells are playing their tune, birds twittering, dogs barking etc... next minute shattered by A3 'Blink Bonny' doing 80+ with whistle wide open for a good half mile thru the station!!!! Pure Gold....
