Looking any info on the compresser that worked the rock drills
to dig out Magpie Sough.

I know they were using Schramm drills initially, and that the compressor was powered by a small waterwheel on the river Wye. There is still a small waterwheel on the dam which feeds the main Shacklow mill, but I don't know if this is the original one or a later one - it was used to pump water up to Sheldon until the village was connected to mains water some time before WW2.

If you want to dig deeper, I think the relevant records are either in the Sheffield archives or the Derbyshire Record Office.
