There is outrage at plans to extract uranium from the Grand Canyon.

I was there last year and have photos of two abaandoned mines which were producing Uranium - I was very surpised to find one had a very nice headgear.

It had been abandoned for about 5 years.

Interestingly near the new Skywalk there is a site called gauno point where they had extracted bat droppings from the caves on opposite site of the valley. The Mining (so called) was stopped due to a a tourist plane hitting one of the guide cables of one of the buckets
