I thought I'd seen it all today.... I did a flying visit round Snailbeach today and on my way to Tankerville found Central Mine. I knocked on the door asking for permission to photo the property as it was obviously an engine house... the door opened and a very friendly gent who said "Boiler"? ... and I was asked in as I stood there looking quizical!! . He was great as he explained that basically his wine cooler/cellar is a Lancashire boiler still in situ from the mining era of his property.... This has to be the ultimate wine cooler.... and what a great guy, a real star .. he just let me in, showed me around and gave me some great gen on the area and his place, given the weather this certainly made my day. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Sadly he has just sold the place fore a cool £550K - an even more sad fact the Shropshire Mining Club as it was then was offered the place for £8k that was in 1974. When I preffered caves and you could fill your tank for less than two quid and most of the members were skint - nothing changes there then.
