I'm sure those on here who've met him would join with me in wishing JohnnyM (him of the BODOD) a speedy recovery having decided (at 10 o'clock last night in driving rain) that a mountain bike ride was in order and is currently languishing in hospital in Bangor with a broken sternum. Apparently the bike is undamaged ;)

Get well soon :flowers:

Ouch! How do they fix that?
Have I not warned you lot repeatedly about the dangers of this excersise thing?

I just looked that up, sounds very painful and awkward too. Hope he gets better soon. (Silly thing to do though but we all do those sometimes!).

Hi All,
a belated 'thank you' to everyone. I shall try not to do it again, especially at Christmas time. My 800 lumen bike lighting rig (plus StenLight) was clearly not quite good enough...
Cheers,
JM

PS I'm just fine so long as I don't cough. Or laugh...

Hi,
not dissing your mate in any way, but it's dead easy. Just put your bike on it's side and twist the (straight) handlebars by 170º so that they point almost straight up.
Next, fall in such a way as to impale the centre of your chest on the end of the bars.
There! Done! Easy peasy cheezy!
Agreed, it's a bit harder to improvise this while bicycling along, but I've had very special training - at the Retards School for Bicycling Idiots...
