Enough pre-orders to make the 2008 UK Mine Exploration calendar a go-er 🙂 :)

Now taking photo sumissions, so far we have

Need 9 more people for 9 more months, same format as last year, main pic and two small pics.

Cut-off date for photo submissions is Sunday 23rd, which gives two weeks.

In the first instance though can people post or PM to say they want to submit pics please?

If more than 12 requests are received then the pages will go to the first 12 who actually send the photos :)

Ta for the input so far everybody, it was this or spend 12 months looking at pictures of fluffy kittens I guess...

I've not seen previous calendars, are the main pic and the smaller two all of the same place?
In any case I'd like to submit something.

Can be the same place or different, only proviso is (unlike the photo comp) that they have to be underground and ideally reasonably recent as it's an annual thing rather than archive photos.

Sorry, I appreciate you probably realised that but I only just realised I hadn't actually made the requirements very clear, forgetting that some people won't have seen last years 😞

I'm not sure we'll do the nominated months thing this year, not everybody got their month last year IIRC so I'd rather not promise this to avoid dissapointing some people.

Having major problems with laptop, unfortunately that's where the majority of my pictures are.

Front cover pic is one of Nimrod's, it seemed to fit the bill nicely. I haven't actually bagged January myself, just done that as a mockup and as it is the first month in the year... In terms of how months will be allocated I'm not doing requests like last year. Not everybody could get their choice and I'd rather nobody ended up disappointed with it. Instead I'll try and place the images so the subject matter and colours etc vary nicely month from month.

It's very much based on last year's layout but has been laid out from scratch so there are some variations. I've stuck to Playday! but gone Monday to Sunday instead of Sunday to Saturday and there are only boxes for the actualy days in the month rather than a complete grid. Hope everybody approves of the changes, subtle as they are.

I really could do with:

- About 5 more sets of photo submissions, there's a fair bit of money on the line so if we get more than 12 a panel (not me) is likely to choose the final 12
- Any special dates that need including (all that were on last year are retained including the anniversary of Mole's death)

Aiming to go to print mid October and send out early November.

Will try and extract pictures from the sickly laptop today and tomorow, if I can get them off I will send you some for you to peruse Simon.
Can manage to extract about one file at a time before the machine crashes 😞
On the plus side I'm now running a shiney new laptop :lol:
