I am looking for details about an underground accident at Acomb Drift Northumberland on 10th July 1945. Roland Suddes (My Father) was seriously injured and sunsequently died from his injuries in Hexham General hospital in March 1951. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is The Coal Authority or Durham Mining Museum
DMM show the Scottish Mining Museum as holding a lot of records for Acomb-

I think Acomb was nationalised in 1952 so 1951 records may be harder to get hold of.

The archives of any local newspapers may also be useful.
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.
