Hello

Are these still there do you know? We were up near the alum quarries above Sleights last week and looking across the valley towards Aislaby it looked like the quarrying was working in the immediate area of the jet mines.

hhhmmm, thats a good question as its been at least 6 months since i was there, this is a photo from last year, i`ll check again & let you know!

This is what the area was like last summer when Rich and myself visited the modern quarry.

Was it somewhere over near the portacabins ?
I've not actually seen the jet mine itself.

You can tell it was summer by the mud and puddles....

Took a trip up there last night, the qaurry was more extensive but the two entrances left are still there, i still have`nt been in yet but maybe some other time....as i remember the tight dry entrance(which has had a collapse)stunk of badger **** & had little red flies all over....nice!

yes, its just to the fringes of the qaurry where you said, im a little bit paranoid about saying the exact location allthough the whole area is open access, i guess i just like these places kept suss!

That's fair enough though I suspect the badger pee and red flies might be the best deterent you could ever ask for.... 🙂
