A set of leather bound books recording the ‘TRANSACTIONS of the INSTITUTION of MINING ENGINEERS’ (Founded in 1852). There are thirty one volumes in total but they are not a complete set. However, the first six volumes date from the founding of the Institution in 1852 although the bindings on these first books are in a poor condition
