A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: Beginners event - Gunnerside Gill

Date & time: 11/10/2009 at 10:00

Details: An event for people who are wishing to visit a mine for the first time. Nothing technical such as ropes or ladders, but a nice walk around. Still, you will know you are in a mine!

If you can manage the pleasant 2 mile walk up the valley, then you will be able to manage the mine.

Please pm for more details or with any questions.

Big thanks to everyone who turned up today, no no-shows at all.

Special thanks to Chris and Rich for coming over from Cleveland with a 9 pint hangover to dispense their knowledge of the area to everyone else.

I had a cracking day and hope everyone else did too.

Very lucky with the weather, about as perfect as it could get. As for it being a trek, there's a long way to go beyond that for even more stuff.

Chris and Rich took us to another two nearby levels so it was a very full day.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
