A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: AN evening in Keswick

Date & time: 05/09/2009 at 19:30

Details: An evening in Keswick: certain to involve a wee dram!

A get-together where lamps are not required...

Event added by: Vanoord

Full event: http://www.aditnow.co.uk/events/?uid=65

As it says, AN evening out in Keswick, with a mine the following day.

No concrete plans just yet, but as there will be a few of us in Keswick that evening, it would be nice to say hello to anyone who's around and put a few names to faces 🙂

Rough plan would be for a drink in a local hostelry afterwards - all suggestions welcome!

Anyone who's interested, please shout!

Note: in a fit of ham-fistedness, I deleted the original Event, so people who said they would attend are no longer showing - sorry! 😞

Ah, several of you have signed up without knowing what's planned!

Having done a bit of thinking and bearing in mind that Keswick's likely to be busy and food for a big group somewhat hard to find (there's a mountain run the following day) - how's about a meet-up in a pub at around 9-9.30pm?

Does anyone want to suggest which pub? - as a newby to Keswick, my choice would be made by searching t'interweb and I hate to imagine where we'd end up!

The Olde Golden Lion and the Oddfellows are the only pubs I know. Suspect the Colonel or Grover Dave will have a better idea of whats there.

As its Keswick though, this season's Berghaus, spotless gaiters and an unused walkers ice axe stapped to your bag will be considered de rigeur at all times.

I've just this winter's Helly Hansen delivered to the shop this afternoon - will that do?! 😉

EDIT: as noted above, I've managed to delete the original event when I was trying to edit it and thus it's only showing me as attending 😞

I think the list should be:

Vanoord
ColonelMustard
SimonRL
Keswick
Grover Dave
RJV
ChrisTwigg

Just as long as you plan to do nothing more in it during the day than strut around laden with George Fisher carrier bags.

I'll take that as a seconding! 😉

Dog and Gun it is, 9ish!

For those that don't know me, I look nothing like my avatar... I'm 6'3", in desperate need of a haircut and shall almost certainly in the company of two young* ladies - and quite possibly SimonRL.

If I remember, I shall wear something suitably Gucci ;)

I'm off to Ambleside tomorrow morning so fear not if I don't reply to any comments on this here forum!

*Okay, late twenties, but they'll thank me for describing them as young 😉

Likewise. 6'3" and in desperate need of a haircut but something seems to have gone very wrong on the two young ladies side of things. I'll have Dave & Chris instead.

I am going up to Keswick on the weekend of the 25th sept with a couple of old shool mates to visit a quarry or two. And do some mountain walking (weather permiting).
I was at Coniston last week on holiday with my family, and did some mine exploration of course.
So I will be following your thread with interest. Have a good weekend.

Sometimes it doesn't rain as much in the Lakes as it did at Coniston. Only sometimes though....

Poo - I shall be in Keswick on the 6th., just in time to maybe see the hangovers 😞
We inhabit an island made of coal, surrounded by a sea full of fish. How can we go wrong.......

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
