This will be a fantastic trip, the people who look after the place have done a stirling job and make visitors feel very welcome. Very close to the M54 and A5 so travel is easy from most parts of the country.

Just bumping this event up.

Still plenty of time to put your name down for this, and a couple of spaces left. It is a thoroughly recommended trip to a mine that offers both excellent exploration and a very interesting history (and surface remains) guided by some very knowledgable people.

As a member of the SCMC, thought I'd just back the above commment up... This mine is well worth seeing; tThe surface remains are far more extensive than most places you'll see, set in a beautiful part of the country. The underground stuff is very interesting although I personally find the SRT terrifying!

Hope everybody is looking forward to the Snailbeach trip this weekend.

Just to confirm meetup place and time.

Suggested meeting place in the Village Hall car park which is on the left after a narrow railway bridge.

If you are coming along the A488 Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle Road, after Minsterley the turning is on the left at a crossroads in Plox Green - it's a tight turn over a narrow stone bridge.

10am

I made a mistake in the directions, correct directions should be:

Suggested meeting place in the Village Hall car park which is on the RIGHT after a narrow railway bridge.

If you are coming along the A488 Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle Road, after Minsterley the turning is on the left at a crossroads in Plox Green - it's a tight turn over a narrow stone bridge.

Well.. what a fantastic day that was!

Certainly requires a re-visit though.... far too much to see in just one day. The surface features alone could take a day. This place should be on everyones list to visit 🙂

A big thanks to our very knowlegeable guides too :flowers: :flowers:

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
