A good day out and nice to meet nwminer, all the way from Seattle!
I shall leave that for SimonRL to explain (as he went down there), but there is one chamber (E?) that can be penetrated quite a long way down. Hopefully there shall be pictures once people return from Snailbeach today.
There's also one other chamber (H?) that a small section still exists towards the top end, but it's mostly a slope down and a slope up with a small bit of floor in the middle.
There's very little left in the east twll and it looks from a closer inspection that most of the chamber roofs have collapsed: the holes pretty much follow the lines of chambers but don't go deep enough for you to start seeing the actual chamber walls. It's almost as if the chamber roofs have been intentionally blasted away, so complete is the devastation.
In general, the east twll is very shaley and broken and I'd probably advise people to keep out of any of the underground bits as they're not particularly safe.
However, we got a lot further west than we thought was possible, although due to a bit of a misunderstanding, not all people (ie me!) saw this!
I've got some pics of the 3-6 winder to upload later on - I spent a fait while experimenting with lighting and the results are a bit mixed!
Hello again darkness, my old friend...
