As the corner of the horse level at Luke's Hall crumbles away, it is still reassuring to see that our timbering holds the original loose slabs safely in position.

I don't think I have ever been through the crawls without digging out at some point along the route. They also to remind you how easy Hetheringtons is in comparison.

The wheel flat wheels are an important part of the history and archaeology of the mine. We have wheels and axles available on surface.

Dont worry Pete I was being facetious about the Wheel Flat wheels; avoidance of removal or damage of any artefacts is page one stuff, folks (and its still not too late for someone to return the 'borrowed' stoneware bottle from Ramgill Vein)
