I've nearly finished an improved Album page, so next on the list is the Mine home page.

Question...

Is it worth keeping the Notes / Stickies. Very few get added, and they fall out of date very quickly.

Would they be missed?

Longer term, a better solution would be able to tag specific forum threads to mines?

Simpler seems to be better I think; the new photo page is simpler and easier to use as a result? Similarly the new album page will be a simplified format.

To complicate matters.

I think the intention is good; it could be useful to have a space on the actual mine page where brief snippets of useful info can be added which don't necessarily warrant being added to the main text description.

However... in the format they are currently displayed the stickies do not catch the eye so might as well not be there at all (and when they do it has to be said there is some gibberish among them!).

So either keep them but redesign 😮 them entirely to make 'em betta or get rid altogether and likely few will notice that they've gone!

For me you could loose the sticky, events and workforce.

Alltycrib Workforce

If you worked or work at Alltycrib why not share that information with other AditNow members?

Yes Simon, dump it, its ridiculous for 99% of the entries.

Thanks for the feedback chaps :)

I'm thinking along the same lines. Simpler, faster, easier to read at a glance.

All these minor features add very little. The important information are the documents, the photos and the map.

Sneak peak of the new mine home page:

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/_Mines/Cwmorthin-Slate-Mine_1/

It's way off being completed, and it's not currently showing the albums or documents (they'll be added of course!).

I've taken on board the feedback above and it's only going to show the really important stuff and removes all the minor and mostly-unused features like workforce and notes.

The improvement are mostly in:

- Easier direct links to upload photos or archive photos
- Consistent layout and buttons from the new album and photo pages
- Much better mapping, lets you view the mines near on the map rather than just as a list

Hopefully by end of March I'll have this, and the final improvements to the new album page, and the new photo captioning tool all live...

Can you default the map to Sat imagery? I'm not sure if it's something that Google let you do.
