The way albums are displayed on the home page has changed :)

Previously the same photograph always appeared against an album, usually the first photograph uploaded. Now it's random, so it's a bit more interesting not seeing the same photograph over and over.

Hope it meets with approval.

Excellent idea Simon. It will also eradicate the problem if you delete the first photo. I think.
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Thanks Carnkie, and yes it will fix that problem, which is one of the reasons I've modified it

Sorry folks, but for the time being I've had to put this back the way it was. I think there is a glitch with the code in the random image display that causes the site to slow down. As I'm away for a while later today I don't want to leave the site with any potentially iffy code in it. :flowers:

Is this whole thing the reason why when I uploaded a tonne of new pics to the South Crofty user album the other night the album didn't appear on the front page as it usually would?

No, nor was it anything you did with your upload (or anything anyone else did) there was an error in the database stopping it showing. Fixed now :flowers:

BTW, and thanks for uploading those pics

Is it possible to date one or two of the photos, so they can be compared with earlier or newer images? (I know it can be a pain to date and comment all of them!)
Also did you use an add-on flash unit or not, I didn't get very good images with a standard camera with built in flash but more experienced photographers on same visit took some large flash units with them.
Thanks
D.

I assume you are asking about my pics Dolcoathguy?

I'm going to add some descriptions and dates soon, I just haven't had allot of time to go through them all and caption them just yet.

With reguards to the flash... I was actually using a small compact digital camera for that trip. The surface pictures came out nicely but the underground ones suffered with the whole lack of lighting. The ones that came out better than others tended to be the ones when others where looking at the same area with their headlamps. There are some better pictures I took of the modern developments underground but due to the agreement with the mine that we wouldn't upload/publish any pictures of newer workings I am not too sure about uploading them for a little while yet.

I see you have captioned most of them now, thanks, an interesting set of photos.
Did you digitally enhance the undeground photos? I did with some of mine, which picks out some of the details at the edge of flash range.
I guess a few powerful torches is a cheaper option than lugging £100's worth of Camera add-on flash units.

Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
