On another thread mention was made that the ID of people leaving votes for photographs is logged on the Adit Now system. Would it be possible for this to be displayed beside each vote? At least as a default setting, with maybe an opt out button if people are shy.

Grrr... more work...

A few people have asked for this now so I've started on it.

Should be done in a day or so.

By default I'll make it anonymous, but tick a single checkbox and your member name will show against the vote.

Also all existing votes will be anonymous, I think retro-showing usernames against all votes already in the database would be a can of worms 😮

I'll post up here when it goes live.

This is done now...

When you go to vote on a photo you'll see (if you're logged in) a new tickbox and the caption:

Identify me: tick only if you want your member name to show against your vote

Tick the box and your member name will display (and be linked to your profile as it is everywhere else on the site) on both the list of comments on the photo page and on the latest 10 votes on the home page.

Leave the box blank and the vote will be cast anonymously.

All existing votes in the database are handled as anonymous. This modification only applies to votes case from here on.

It taxed me 😉 Handling of isnulls and joined select statements (to handle guest votes where there's no username or user_id). Too late at night for this sort of thing

Enjoy :flowers:
