Would it be possible for the section that shows the latest photographs to show the latest photograph added, rather than a random shot from the album? or am I just getting picky

I think that is an excellent suggestion! (Save a lot of time looking through previous pics to spot the new ones)

The photos in the album are in chronological (according to upload date/time) order so the new ones are always at the beginning of the list.

I'm inclined to keep the random display myself; I rather like it. And what would happen if the last upload was a batch? And the most recent photograph in an album was of less interest than the rest of the batch? You might not click to view the album maybe?

The fact that you're not seeing the latest photo is an incentive to actually open the gallery and look, then perhaps go further if its a place you're not familiar with.

As Simon says if the last shot happened to be not that exciting, people may not even bother to take the first step.

Although I can understand why some may prefer the latest shot only, just personal preference I guess.

I often look at an album as a result of seeing an especially interesting photograph in the new photos boxes.
