I urgently want a copy of the CATMHS Journal no.2

I have tried all the obvious sources with no success at all.

New, Old dog eared copy, PDF, photocopy... any form whatsoever

Can anyone help ?

Ian Tyler is not one of my favourite people. I very much doubt they would have a copy, but if they do, buy it next time your in there & sell it to me for a profit 😎

Why isn't he one of your favorite people? His attitude towords soloning in the Coniston Copper Mines?

Well, I have all the journals except no.2 That is the main reason I want it. Not so much for the actual content. In fact as a member Of CATMHS I think I will go and have a look in the club archive which in currently held at the Ruskin Museum. I am not sure if I would be allowed to photocopy it though... 🙂

Are you a member of MOLES as well?
I havn't been to Ruskin in quite some time, last time I went, I went with some people I knew to look at the Slate Section. Very good museum, I didn't really look at much save the C old man slate heritage stuff.
Have you tried Threlkeld?-, though They're not really an archive, just a fake lead mine & old quarry

Hi Linden, No I am not a member of Moles, but I was a long time ago. I did not enjoy the experience !

I had better be careful what I say on this public forum, but Ian Tylers museum used to be at threlkeld. Thats before they fell out with each other....

Little bit limited in slate.
One thing I don't understand is that photogrpahs you see beyond websites, like in that museum are not used with as good flashguns as ours, and yet they probably have far more pics...

Well, personally I never use flash guns, and anyway quality is better than quantity 😉

Not been to Tylers new museum, is it any better than the old one or is it still just piles of looted artefacts with very little in the way of labels or interpretation?

I refuse to go there. I drive past quite often though. The Ore wagon panted in bright colours with dynamite on it looks like a packet of refreshers. I wonder where he got those wagomns from ?

Haven't seen them. There were quite a few sold off when Groverake closed though.
