Sinker's hit the nail on the head: 'set up by an SRT instructor'. Ditto me, and it makes a helluva difference...

The advice about doing the chest harness up until you are bent double is also right. That's why the Torse was developed and why it is such a good chest harness.

Setting kit up and "tuning it" is the way forward. If you can find someone to give your set up the once over.

Too long a footloop can cause all sorts of issues.

Keep yourself as close to the rope as possible. Crank your croll up tight as you can.

Try to stay as vertical as possible, this is not easy if you are a chap with a taste for the finer things in life (I speak from experience). Get into the habit of pulling yourself into your hand jammer not up on it (if that makes any sense) as you stand in the footloop.

If you are have issues with the pantin undoing lock it with a crab through the hole below the cam. (I seem to recall that someone recommended using a test tube bung which sounds like a reasonable idea.

I often leave tightening the Torse up until I'm actually on the rope with my weight on the Croll.

Works for me.
