Who Do You Think You Are? had Craig Revel Horwood on last night. One of his Great Great Grandfather's(?) went out to Australia and was a gold miner.

He went bankrupt after about ten years but got going again a few years later with his brothers on a bigger scale. By that time they doing deep mining using shafts.

An expert took him to some fields and said it was where he would have been mining. The expert had found a lump of concrete which he seemed to suggest was part of the cap on a shaft.

He then took him around to the modern gold mine. They drove down the mine in a pickup truck and came to some old workings and the base of a shaft that he said was his GG GF's mine. Not sure if some artistic licence but not often that you can do that!
