There was a story about someone doing a barn conversion at Carnyorth in the 1980's, they parked a concrete mixer inside to lay a concrete floor. When they opened the door the next day couldn't understand why the mixer had vanished, fortunately they realised the floor had gone as well before actually stepping inside.

Yes, very similar to that. Fortunately the bureau of mines helped us out by posting bright orange "Stay Out, Stay Alive" signs at all of the interesting workings. All we have to do is drive up, use the binoculars to find all of the orange placards dotting the hillside, and head off with our helmets. Quite handy of them.
