I have just revived British Mining 99 from NMRS by Stephen Moreton. For those interested in Scottish mining history its well worth getting hold of. I suspect there is no reference he has overlooked. JeremL

As you say Jeremy, Stephen spent a lot of time researching this Memoir, probably over a 10 year period.
More recently, during the last 2 years he was allowed access to some of libraries and archives of the various landowners involved in mining here, which was probably a first time for some of these estates.
Some of the plans were edited by Rick, but it would be impossible to reproduce the large abandonment plan, which is found in the library of BGS Edinburgh.
Fig 23 p99 gives just a 'flavour' of this plan.

John. Good to hear from you. BGS have been digitizing there archive, would be nice if they 'published' them. I belive most of Wanlockhead have been done. Jeremy
