Can anyone tell me the name of the colliery at SN 526 106, SW of Tumble?. Seems to have been of fair size & working ca 1950's but escaped Mike Gill's maps, the Colliery Guardian maps etc. The nearest place names are Cwm & Pen-llwyn-gwyddau.
nearby Nant-ddu colliery which seems to have closed by 1918 but is also shown as working again on 1981 OS map.

The grid reference on AditNow doesn't seem to be correct, but there is another reference to it here:

It's Cynheidre Colliery No3 & No4 Pits
The Cynheidre Colliery (SN 494 075) on Welsh Coal Mines is for the No1 & No2 Pits
I went in a mine once.... it was dark and scary..... full of weirdos

When do I get my soapbox, I need to rant on about some b***cks

Known locally as the "Cwm Sinkings"; the shafts were commenced just before the outbreak of the second world war, sunk but little development work undertaken and later incorporated into the post-nationalisation Cynheidre complex as nos. 3 & 4 pits.

There is little trace of the mine, only bulldozed and vegetated tips.
