Hello everybody am planning on visiting this site next month at some point have never done a sulphar mine before so it will be a first for me ,just wondering if their is anything I need out of the ordinary or if any permits need to be gained Or like wise many thanks Thomas

Sulphur and water make battery (sulphuric) acid, the red pools are an acid complex with iron. Wash in fresh water as soon as possible. Take a small bottle of clean water just for rinsing your eyes if you get drips in them...

Thanks again much appreciated from a collapse point of view is it all good inside ? Or lots of crawling? Also any ventilation issues for a 4x?

No access issues but please be careful wandering around. There are some lovely formations and it would be a shame to spoil them ;)

There are also some 'flying mice' around there so don't disturb them :thumbup:

Gas issues, no.

But it does stink of....well...sulphur really.

Wash your hands BEFORE going for a pee. ;)

Cheers for the reply mate I won’t be touching the formations the ones at wigpool so impressive the under water formations also am hoping these are as good if not better ! I shall be uploading photos after my visit if anybody is local and wishes to join let me no please am happy to have anyone along many thanks for all the great advice Thomas

You are wrong about the access its on of the negotiated Cave access sites - you have to register with CAL and have BCA insurance its part of the forestry agreement
