I think Llion means this:
πŸ”—7421[linkphoto]7421[/linkphoto][/link]
πŸ”—7422[linkphoto]7422[/linkphoto][/link]
Its partner on the DE tunnel:
πŸ”—7424[linkphoto]7424[/linkphoto][/link]
And the pipe from there upto the surface - allgone now,I guess.
πŸ”—7426[linkphoto]7426[/linkphoto][/link]

The map is the territory - especially in chain scale.

Thanks Graham and Llion.

I remember now.

An area I wish I'd devoted more time to.

Is there still enough to see to make it worthwhile crawling in the water under the gate where it all comes out?

IIRC there an serious collapse just inbye of that (assuming we're talking about the drainage level near the railway tunnel at the BF end).

Always been interested in this. Could never quite work out its relationship to the more well known bits
'I wonder how many breakfasts, and other meals we have missed inside that nasty clockless, timeless hole?'

'The Hobbit'
J R R Tolkien.

Thanks Grahami, that's the big metal block thingy πŸ˜‰ not sure how to get photos off the site onto threads..
There is a nice big collapse not far from the adit, a load of small pipes carry the water through..and a large pipe at the bottom is big enough for you to squeeze through, depending on the amount of water coming into your face  Its a wet trip but worth it. Can also get up the channelled slot to the next level, was no ladder when we were there but there is a polly rope. A hole in the floor of G that goes somewhere was passed using an old metal fence..
I would assume the shaft down from DE to G is still there, it was a few years ago and no work has been done to that side of the twll ?
