This popped up somewhere else.

Does anyone have any idea where it was taken?

I would say here, the building being modified at some later date by addition of chimney etc. It does look like an addition in my photo?

I *think* the old photo is looking in the opposite direction - angle of the roof. In which case I'd place it at the landing of the Tuxford incline?

Not got access to photos or plans to check just ATM though, so that's from memory of the layout.

I do believe you are correct!

That's presumably a somewhat later photograph given that the roof is missing compared to the photograph I linked to.

The roof could be missing in the original photograph as well; the photographer would have had his back to the pit and the incline, and could have been standing under the hanging roof.

I concur with this as there is a 'thingy' in front of the building that matches both photographs.
Sorry about the false lead.

Track layout has also changed - the track closest to the building has gone.

Presumably this is the change referred to in Graham's caption, ie the change of route for traffic to the mill?

Just a reminder -because this was uploaded a good few years ago:

🔗115924[linkphoto]115924[/linkphoto][/link]

The hut under discussion was in the second "infill" down on the right.

I have seen a phot looking down Tuxford while the "arching" was under construction and the hut can clearly be seen "behind" the supporting wall of the arching, about to be buried.

The map is the territory - especially in chain scale.
