More local history trivia than mining perhaps, but a recent trip to Parc included a discussion on the lode name Fucheslas. Last night I came across an S4C program called Ceau Cymru (Welsh Fields) where unusual names of fields and tracts are explored. One of the many interesting names was Fuches Las. A wall'd enclosure where they would herd cows to be milked [Glas, Green & Fuches, Herd]. Difficult to picture a similar scene close to Parc now.

Oh well, there goes another 15min of my life enlightened... So much to go, so little time :)

Trivia it may be, but it's still interesting. And it answers my question about the pronunciation. Welsh it is then.
