A friend of the family has some information on the 'Doubletrees Lode' which relates to a section of what i would assume to be Par consols.
Apparently the mine hit what could have been a large copper deposit just as copper prices crashed so it wasnt mined.

Does anyone have any information on this as i havent seen him lately to get a copy and am interested by it.

I doubt if there's much mileage to this. After the 250 fathom level had been reached the mine had turned into a tin mine and that was the main produce on closure of the mine.

You need to locate yourself the "Trounson" books. "The Cornish Mineral Industry" is the one I'm thinking of and it goes into a bit of detail about the way the mine was abandoned and what was left there. The area was considered by Trounson (who was an expert, but perhaps a trifle rose tinted) to be a geological analogue of Camborne and is a good bet for tin. Not sure about what copper remains, but I think it was something to do with a fluccan and the faulted extension of the lode not found.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
