Hi my name is Andy and Im looking to visit Nant Gadwen mine at the end of this month but am having a bit of trouble finding the entrance can enyone help. 😉

They should be straightforward. There's a bit of an opencast on the left as you go down the valley. Further on there is an open adit on the left which leads into the working that underlie the opencast, some of which is flooded. There are also a couple of short trials. They are essentially as marked on the OS Map.

The opencast can be seen from the upper track (the old railway trackbed) and there is a level leading into it from below the trackbed that can be walked along to get into the opencast.

If you descend the opencast from the access level there is a further level leading off. This forks after a short distance and one branch has what looks like a climbable stope in it.

If the railway track is followed to the coast there are the remains of an engine shed, two inclines with drum houses and a weigh house at the foot of the first incline. On the beach amongst the rocks are some wagon wheelsets and the remains of winches.
