Slightly off topic I know, sorry.

At Port Penrhyn, the cast iron segments of the old bridge that previously had carried road and rail traffic over the River Cegin have been stored behind a wall amongst trees for a number of years (probably about 30).

I was present on a Gwynedd Industrial History Society walk on Sunday 16th January along with a few other members of this site. It was noticed a fair bit of woodland clearence had taken place there, and at other places on site.

I received a message this morning saying the bridge components had been removed. I did check we were actually talking about the same bridge, we were.

Does anyone know where they have been removed to? My informant said later that he had a quick look round Coed y Parc, but he couldn't see it there.

I hope having been saved for all those years it hasn't now been scrapped!

Good news! It has not been scrapped, merely moved to a yard in another part of the estate. I was on the case straight away this morning.
