Anyone got any info on Pool Park, I can't see a single photo on the 'tinternet. I've had a look at cpat.org.uk but no pics. Or what sort of condition the mine is in.

The adit is chest deep with water and ocre. If you go up it Betws y Coed waterfalls turn orange. When you go up the adit and reach the load there is a tunnel higher up the stopes on the right with equiptment still in place. Bear in mind though its about 35 years since I was last there on a rescue practice. Good hunting! 🙂

OGOF LLYN PARC or PARK also called POOL PARK ESCLUSHAM MOUNTAIN
NGR SJ 2495 5068 A 1325 feet L over 4 miles VR 435 feet
see page 35 for location map
A major cave system under Esclusham Mountain. The cave radiates out in three directions. West towards Gas Pot. North west to Park Farm Swallets and north to Minera and Ogof Llyn Ddu. There is the potential for a 10 mile long system. At present only 4 miles have been discovered. Sink to resurgence is 2.8 miles. In the 18th C lead miners discovered 2500 feet of stream passage. This was reentered by the NWCC in 1984 after a long dig.
Entry is via a 330 foot deep entrance shaft which is locked and located in the middle of a private grouse moor. This followed by 60 an 30 foot pitches which finally reached the main river passage at a depth of 400 feet. The cave is gated. Key from NWCC.
