Where under earth in Croesor was this ? I don't recall any of our survey team ever recording this (yet if it is there now, it must have been there then....)!

Ah - digging through my notes have just found a reference to a Robey Semi-portable being installed at the top of the upper incline below what is called "shaft 3." The engine was used for both pumping and uphaulage from the floors being sunk below the present Floor A. These necessitated long rod linkages between the engine and the pumps, as well as making the working of the incline difficult.
