Interesting photo - from that angle, it's very obvious where the chambers are, something you don't appreciate as you walk past!

If you're interested in Conglog, there's a very good little book by Celia Hancock / MJTL http://www.moorebooks.co.uk/shelves/cart.php?target=product&product_id=18311&substring=conglog

Thanks to you all for the information and I have added two pictures into the album. I went into one of the adits close by and it goes about 60 feet into a huge chamber but our lights were too weak on that day to pick anything out. I'll get the book.

There are two shafts into the top of that large chamber, one at the top of the footwall, and one right in the middle of the chamber roof!

It it a good abseil for the suitably adventurous.

Also, if you ascend the next chamber South, there is a level which runs out into one of the open pits.

Chris.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
