During this day we're being donated a lot of scrap metal and timber for use at Cwmorthin. A few of us will be making rat-runs with a 4x4 and trailer to bring it up to the mine, probably in 4 or 5 trips through the day. Some assistance at the mine would be most usful, even if it's just two people. Ideally then we could drop the material at the adit and then set off for the next load, whilst people on-site could then move it bit-by-bit into a spare chamber in the mine to be safely stored. If you're able to help this Saturday at the mine that would be most helpful! Obviously it'll involve carrying materials.

Please email us if your able to attend [email protected]

Just a quite post to applaud those that were on site moving stuff today

Cwmorthin was very busy today - I went for a long amble (something like 800' of gain) with LesW, Known and Cookie; met Chris, SurferJim and Speedycaver at the top of the Old Vein Incline; then found SimonRL and his party around Chamber 32 before losing them then finding them again; before finally finding the working group (Jagman, Miles, Root and Psycksxs(?)) at the adit. I'm not sure if I've missed anyone, so apologies if I have!

So the upshoot of this is that it's good to see Cwmorthin with so many people there on one day - many reaping the rewards of the work that's been done there over the last couple of years. There's a lot more to do, but it's keeping an important bit of history alive and well for the future.
Hello again darkness, my old friend...
