Does anyone out there actually know of an entrance point for this mine.I have been searching various locations but I have only come accross old entrances that have been filled in.

Went to a slate mine in Llangynog about 10 years ago. It was up a long steep incline with a ruinous buildings at the top. And a much deteriorating incline drum.I entered one chamber and saw the remains of a hand operated crane there. Fantastic view to be seen down from there though. Incline started not far from some houses.

Thanks for your prompt reply, unfortunately, the mine you are refering to is actually Craig Rhiwarth slate mine which is in the village of Lllangynog. The West llangynog mine, is actually off a B road which runs out of the village towards Pennant Melangell church. I have found two entances buth both have been backfilled with huge blocks of slate.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
