It's amazing the things you learn, surfing around the net... I've seen a reference that Eric Raspe, author of the once-famous "Baron Munchausen" stories, worked as a supervisor of some sort at Dolcoath (this would presumably be sometime in the 1780s).

Does anyone know anything about this?

He worked at Dolcoath from circa 1782-1789 as storekeeper, then chief assayer. I'm sure there is a mention in Allen Buckley's book on Dolcoath. He was very keen on tungsten and it's properties, which had only just been "discovered".

I remember speaking to Allen 25 yrs + ago about Raspe's time at Dolcoath. interesting stuff and yes, it's mentioned in his book.
