Has anyone been into the mine, is it a straight forward exploration, is there any rope work needed, it looks like you can gain access via one of the lower adits, how far is access possible into the mine , any help would be great thanks,

It's a nice little mine with no rope work in it. Just a bit of scrambling. I seem to remember three possible ways in: the adit, the stope, and a small inclined shaft. The adit is probably easiest to find, as you just trace the water upstream. Going in through the stope keeps your feet dry until the end though!

It's rather small. It's nice though! And if you want more detailed information (on how to find the entrance, for instance; I seem to remember having struggled) from people who have actually recently been there, maybe contact the PCG (http://plymouthcavinggroup.org.uk/); they go there on a fairly regular basis. And they don't tend to hang out on Aditnow.
Enjoy!

If you are going in down the stope a handline is useful. There is a really nice thread belay at the top

A couple of us are looking at going back there at some point and diving the pool at the bottom of the stope (near the ladder)

Diving the lower parts would be amazing, way out of my league though, it would be very interesting to have more information on the lower levels, do you know anyone who has dived in there yet.

Many years ago we took an old miner who had worked there and was caretaker after the mine closed around, the first time he had been back since he stopped work there. In the deep water sections I had to give him a piggyback though. Managed to record a great deal of information about the mine & mill, unfortunately the photos we took were spoiled. That was with the permission of the mineral rights owners, which must be obtained before any visits are made. He said that down the flooded winze was a "massive chamber".
