I like the look of your website Mike, and what’s more I was able to order without opening an account, just like I buy a newspaper at my local newsagents. I didn't even have to say where I do my shopping or give much personal information, or even agree to receive promotional material from 'carefully selected' partners.

I have been dealing with caving Supplies for years and can buy whatever i want off their website in this way, all I need are card details and security number..

Not sure about some of the fields though, for instance "State", I could not find "Permanent alcoholic stupor" on the drop down list. Not sure either about "Zip Code", would this be the one that comes undone on my jeans with frayed knees?
Anyway, it was a required field so I stuck my Post Code in it and hoped for the best.

Only one other issue, it would not take my email address because it already had it, mmmm, I have a business one so I put that in.

I will think of a new workaround next time, Roy is never beaten by technology.

I've just tried to buy a HB copy from Mike Moore and his website says publication is withdrawn due to quality problem. Also the Trevithick Society website says the publication is postponed. Does anybody know what's going on?

got an e-mail from Mike earlier saying the Trevithick Society was not happy with the quality of the printing of the photos and has asked for no more to be sold at this time. they are in discussions with the printer to try to find a solution. mike is advising those that have received them to keep them for the time being but not to write names etc in them as he may need them back to replace them if the printer has to do them again.

as Mike said in the mail, the irony is everybody who has received their's has been chuffed to bits with the quality?!?

Just an observation but I thought the photos were fine as already posted but I'm wondering if the binding of the hardback is slightly suspect. Maybe just me.

I had a chat with Tormark the other day and they were adamant it had been resolved.... so now I don't know what to believe. The problem with books of old photos is that everybody has there own view on brightness, contrast etc and it can be hard to strike a balance... this happens alot on railway books.... I shall phone for an update!

The thing about this is that we all know nothing without having sight of the originals. As it is a book that is almst exclusively a book of photos, then quality of reproduction is of utmost importance.

Having said that, it is a gem.

I have "Britains Old Metal Mines" and "Yesterdays Golcondas", and frankly they keep getting taken out of the book case and studied over and over. I rather fancy that this one will be the same.

Just to clarify, yesterday your own website said that the book was withdrawn to quality problem and the Trevithick Society website also said it was postponed. Other Aditnow members said about possible problems with the book - not me. I was just asking about the book and as you sell and advertise books on aditnow then it is surely a fair question to ask about a book you're selling on the aditnow forum?

Received my copy today direct from Tormark. Have looked through after reading the above on the photos. I am happy with the photos and didn't expect them to be of top quality due to be taken 80-90 years ago. It is a very interesting photographic history of Cornwall's mines. Also, very good for model makers, as their are some interesting pieces of machinery... round-frames, stamps etc that can be used as a guide line.

How much of the book focusses on derelict engine houses and how much on "more intersting" subjects?
