This is not mining-related, but possibly of interest to the engine buffs on here; I've been passed on details of the efforts to ensure the ongoing preservation of the water pumping engine and house at Sandbeds near Lichfield. Persimmon homes are supposed to be sorting this out as per a S106 agreement as part of planning permission for a housing estate around the site, but so far they've not fulfilled this, and this chap (http://morturn.wordpress.com/) is agitating to get things moving.
