I just about saw the last days of these lines, and the scrapping of the trackbeds that followed

I've been meaning to visit the Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway Trust for some time as they have a fair number of locos and related artefacts. Unfortunately their website isn't very informative at the moment as it's currently concentrating on Halloween

There's more detail here:

http://www.apack1.co.uk/~apack867/  but it seems to be difficult to find any information about preserved remains of these lines

Using the 'way back machine' you can see the pre-halloween NIRT website:

I've been slowly plotting theses old lines in a Google Earth overlay, done with help from Alan Pack & others involved in the working of them & later restoration of the land.

Work on it has stopped for a while as I've been busy on other things but I will get back & finish it, although it can never cover every piece of track as that moved with the quarry face.

I don't seem to have a pm from you.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
