There was a rescue at Snailbeach mine last night (16/11/2011)
http://www.shropshirestar.com/news/2011/11/17/woman-rescued-after-cave-fall-near-minsterley/ According to the report, a 24 year old female memberfrom a visiting group, had an epeleptic fit and fell off a short aluminium ladder.
Once secure she was hauled out of Chapel Shaft from the 40 yard level some 400ft with the doctor prussicing with the stretcher in an operation taking more than 6 hours.
The rescue team of 52 involved MCRO, paramedics, the Gloucester CRO and a CRO doctor.
It's good to see CRO teams able to respond so professionally and efficiently; but worth mentioning that MCRO is apparently somewhat underfunded so would probably be a CRO that would benefit from some funds for equipment.
All the best to the lady for a speedy recovery!
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by
