That looks a bit like the "cascades" area AR took us to on the trip last October?

Yes, I'd say that was the cascades, in which case it's the connection between Clayton and Chadwick mines, not Dutchman.

The notes written on the back of this photo says it is, "Bottom of Pipe workings were Clayton joins with Dutchman mine."
I think Jim Riewerts wrote that on before he sent me the copies.

You could be right about Chadwick Mine. I was there in 1951 so the details in my head are rather faded. The photo was taken over 12 years ago.

looks like the cascades that link Clayton with chadwick mine. I did a trip up the cascades into chadwick approximatly 5 years ago and entered the very aqueous chadwick sough.
