I've just uploaded a document which gives various details of small collieries in N Derbs.

it's under Doe Lea because that's how I found it, but it contains a lot of stuff about other mines as well

Many thanks for this very interesting document. I'm especially interested in the ironstone information which links into my Turner ancestors who lived at Sutton-cum-Duckmanton.

Yes thanks for that as its a massive help for me too... excellent and if OK with you will add the mines on the DB that are missing.... it fills a good few gaps... Many Thanks yet again.. Plus I needed a few new walks!!

make any use you like, I found it on google, it's not a secret.

Lookin at the Doe Lea GRs I suppose the one in the document is the original drift ( now apparently lost under the M1 slip-road ) and the GR in the database is the later one at the S end of the yard.

Hi Chap... I just put the centre of the site in as the GR... the old adit is as you say lost... I just remember the newer adit... got a plan but the shaft not shown..

I'd be interested to see the plan.

The shaft was sunk in 1982 or 1983, from memory, if that helps? We left two plates out on the last two rings for the incoming connection, so the roof would have been about 40 feet below ground level
