Came across this while browsing. It may have been added before if so I apologise.
A Boulton & Watt blowing engine re-erected on the Dartmouth Circus roundabout in Birmingham. It was built in 1817 and used in Netherton, at the ironworks of M W Grazebrook.

The engine was moved to the traffic island over 30 years ago, it's original location was near to the southern portal of the old Dudley Tunnel, beside the Grazebrook branch of the canal.

What a splendid sight, especially compared to those grotesque pieces of modern sculpture which they sometimes put on roundabouts nowadays.

But it would be even better if it was possible to leave it in its original position, assuming it would be visible there.
