😉 I worked at Birch coppice for 12 years I first went there with the contractors cementation we headed out the roads into the 7ft coal and drove out the first face line there.I later left the contractors and returned to work for the NCB.When I came back to Birch I was sent to worl at the back end of the pit (the front end was the 7ft the back end was the bench coal). It was a very happy pit and a pleasure to work there.I ended up on the staff as a deputy.so to any of the of the Birch Coppice lads out there i say hello my old pals.
