I am writing an article for a magazine on the transformation of Clipstone Colliery back to brown belt, and would love to contact anyone with some good photos of the mine when working, either NCB, BC or private before closure.

The article is more about the machinery involved with putting the land back to 'as was' but i want to include a bit about the pit's history with old photos!

[email protected] is my e-mail addy.

I could not afford to "buy" photos or pay for inclusion in the magazine but would credit the photos to whoever owns them.

What is your timescale? I have some of the Headstock's which I took about 5/6 years ago but will need to find them and that might take a bit of time.

Cheers

You will find some photos and info. here. Of course they are part of the Chris Simpson Collection.

Hi Peter
I know your looking for older photos but you may be interested in some recent ones I took including the winding rooms. Some of the better ones can be found here:-
